Costa Rica
“Overall the itinerary was great and we felt the number of night stays in each location was about right. Our local representative was absolutely great, a very good communicator and was really ‘on it’ in terms of keeping us up to date on everything. The Costa Rican people are all delightful and generally extremely welcoming and the level of spoken English was exceptional. The internal flights were good and obviously got us around quickly but we really did enjoy having the freedom to explore in our rental car. A great holiday, thank you very much for all your help and advice, and we feel that overall we did get to really explore the country which is, of course, helped by having a car to go off and do your own thing. “At the outset we wanted a trip which would include the best of Colombia and also to see some of the famous birdlife. Overall the trip was excellent and the guides and your local agents were very good. Our one day in Bogotá was perfect, Hacienda Venecia in the coffee region was an excellent choice and the highlight of the birding side of the trip was Rio Blanco Cloud Forest and the wonderful hummingbirds. Jardin was a smashing little town and the visit to see the Cock of the Rock was something else - we saw around 20! We very much enjoyed Medellin but were disappointed by Tayrona. Cartegena was very hot but I think we covered every single street in the old town, ate in some excellent restaurants and enjoyed the plunge pool at our hotel, Alfiz.” - PC travelled in November 2023

“As usual I think our Colombia itinerary was spot on and the service and guides were the usual high standard, and met the excellent standard we have come to expect from Last Frontiers. “We had a fabulous holiday and feel as if we immersed ourselves in Cuba. There were all sorts of highlights, from snorkelling in the Bay of Pigs, to hiking to Fidel's hideaway in the Sierra Maestra, to spending a morning visiting Hemingway's haunts by 1950s open-topped American car. We would like to make special mention of your Cuban partners who organised our accommodation, transport and social agenda and most notably, their driver/guide, who was exceptional. He looked after us for 13 nights with immaculate driving - no mean feat on the roads and with the fuel shortage - humour, warmth and consideration. He introduced us to local customs, food and experiences beyond our expectations, and gave us confidence in an unfamiliar environment. All the other guides we met along the way were also well-informed, friendly and helped to make our Cuban adventure very special.” - JF&PW travelled in February 2024
Argentina/Antarctica
“We're home and had a brilliant trip. We loved Buenos Aires, the cruise to Antarctica with Aurora Expeditions was fantastic and a couple of nights on an estancia in the Pampas was the perfect way to end before flying home. We were very lucky with the weather and over the moon with all elements of the cruise. There were 120 passengers on board the ship which was a very good number, and it was a nice mix of nationalities. The ship, Greg Mortimer, was very comfortable, the food was very good, and the expedition team and all the staff on board were excellent. The kayaking was great and camping on shore for a night was a unique experience. We have 1000's of photos and lots of wonderful memories. “Costa Rica was amazing, we absolutely loved it. Thank you so much for all your help and hard work organising everything. The volunteering was great, certainly ‘at one’ with nature because we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. We only saw one turtle but the hosts were lovely. Very, very glad we did it and thank you for your help researching where to go. During the rest of the holiday everything ran very smoothly. The hotels were beautiful, spotless accommodation and accommodating hosts. All the staff, from the transfer drivers to the ones working at the hotels went out of their way to be helpful. Falkland Islands
“The Falkland Islands were amazing, I enjoyed it a lot. Especially because it was end of the season and many of the places I visited I had to myself. There were islands where I spent the night 11km away from the next person, only with a radio to communicate in emergencies. It was a good itinerary for the week we initially planned – sad that some of the islands had to close due to the bird flu and hopefully it will be ok next season. I definitely recommend the Falklands as a destination, it was probably one of the highlights of my trip.

“Thank you for organising our trip, we had a great time and the pace of the trip was about right. There was a lot to see but the real highlights were the Serrania de Hornacal with the rock formations and colours and also the journey across the altiplano from Tarija to Tupiza. Iguazu was, of course, spectacular but a bit more expected so didn’t stand out as much.” - PC travelled in August 2023
Brazil
“Brazil has been a mind-blowing experience. A huge thank you for everything, the guides, hotels and drivers have all been fantastic, and the organisation superb.
Highlights for me and the family were:
The Brazilian people, so lovely, helpful and charming.
Rio, touring around with our guide and walking along Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. He was incredible and we had so much fun with him.
Paraty, the amazing hotel, rock sliding, swimming and snorkelling. Lovely guides here too.
Manaus, great tour with our local guide, a very interesting person.
The Amazon, just everything (caiman, sloths, amazing birds, monkeys, spiders, frogs, piranhas, trees, flowers, etc. etc. etc). The guides and all staff at the lodge were extremely interesting, helpful, kind and fun to be with.
Caipirinhas!

“We had a really good holiday and the places were all fascinating. Congratulations on your reservations and bookings. The organisation, transfers and meeting at all of the airports was perfect and we went at the right time, after carnival. We were frequently told that we were lucky there were so few people around as previously it had been very busy.
People spoke about being careful, but clearly if you do not display expensive jewellery or watches, you are just as safe as any other major city or tourist place.

Costa Rica
“Thank you so so much for all of your help, it was a really special trip and I’m already missing Costa Rica. All our hotels and transfers were perfect and your itinerary suited us so well. Having the transfers all sorted made it so easy for us and I’m so grateful that our trip was planned so well and allowed us to see everything we wanted to.
Our highlights were definitely Mawamba Lodge (Tortuguero), as their staff were just brilliant and the boat trip, the town and the Caribbean Coast was beautiful. For us Arenal and La Fortuna was incredible. The waterfall was amazing (very refreshing!) and the location of the hotel, and being able to wake up and see the Volcano from the balcony was unbelievable. Of course all of our locations were outstanding and we enjoyed every single place we visited.
Everything was so easy and my only downside was that it went so quickly and I wish we had been able to spend longer there. Thank you again for all of your help, we had the best time and I have fallen in love with Costa Rica!” - BS travelled in March 2024
